Philip Seymour Hoffman

The careers of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Thomas Anderson are inextricably linked, as Hoffman has been featured in PTA’s first four films. While he is likely most well known as “Scotty” in Boogie Nights, and “Phil” in Magnolia, Hoffman is hilarious in this short, one scene stint in PTA’s debut, Sydney, aka Hard Eight. Simply billed as “Young Craps Player”, the mulleted actor puts on a ball-busting clinic at the table against old-timer Philip Baker Hall.
